slinger app
Connexa Sports Technologies Inc., the parent company of Slinger Bag and Gameface, has introduced the beta version of its innovative Slinger Bag analytics app, driven by Gameface’s powerful AI technology. Designed for iOS and Android, this app gives tennis players and coaches a new edge in understanding their game by analyzing video data from smartphone or compatible camera footage.Building on its success in the Australian cricket market, the Slinger App’s beta version aligns with Slinger’s Sport-as-a-Service model. Known for its widely used ball launcher, Slinger Bag has established a reputation among millions of tennis enthusiasts worldwide.

At the core of the app is a proprietary AI algorithm that detects and assesses critical components of various playing techniques. Through extensive testing, the AI has identified four key pillars applicable across different playing styles: Hitting Stability, Shoulder and Swing Rotation, Weight Transfer, and Ball Contact Consistency. Using AI-powered video analysis, the app provides players with measurable insights and personalized coaching advice. Whether used independently or alongside the Slinger Bag Launcher, the app encourages consistent use to track progress and improvement.

Enhancing AI for Broader Sports Applications

Mike Ballardie, CEO of Connexa Sports Technologies, highlighted plans for expanding the AI platform across multiple sports verticals such as racquet sports, baseball, and cricket. With the tennis app set to be fully released, Connexa aims to extend the platform to pickleball and padel, while baseball support is slated for later in 2024. Connexa also plans to license its technology for team sports like basketball, soccer, and lacrosse, establishing a stronger foothold in the Sports AI sector. All new Slinger Bag users will be encouraged to download the app to access essential guides and training videos, boosting its user base and engagement.

Global Expansion and Strategic Vision

Gameface’s Managing Director, Jalal Shaik, outlined the company’s phased approach, beginning with cricket before developing performance markers for tennis. With the tennis app launch paving the way, Gameface intends to refine its cricket technology, building on the AI advancements achieved through tennis.

Ballardie emphasized how AI technology, combined with mobile and cloud platforms, is redefining sports analytics, delivering real-time, data-rich insights that empower players, coaches, and teams to make data-driven decisions based on each athlete’s kinematic profile.

The Sports AI market, valued at $2.1 billion in 2022, is expected to witness substantial growth, fueled by expanding user adoption and recurring revenue streams.
