The Woodlands Tennis Initiative Earns "Green Tennis" Certification

The Woodlands Township’s tennis initiative has achieved a significant milestone by earning the prestigious “Green Tennis” certification. This honor is awarded to tennis facilities that demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental sustainability through effective recycling programs. Since its inception in 2022, the program has successfully recycled more than 10,000 tennis balls, showcasing the community’s dedication to eco-friendly practices.

Tennis players and enthusiasts are encouraged to continue supporting these recycling efforts by dropping off used tennis balls at designated collection points throughout The Woodlands:

  • The Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park, 5310 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381
  • Cranebrook Park, 11800 Crane Brook Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77382
  • Sawmill Park, 2200 Millpark Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77380
  • Shadowbend Park, 4995 Lake Woodlands Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77382
  • Wendtwoods Park, 8950 Creekside Green Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77375

It is crucial to remember that tennis balls can only be recycled through the special collection bins located at these sites and are not accepted in regular curbside recycling bins.
