The Loughborough University National Tennis Academy (LUNTA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Morgan Phillips as its new Academy Coach.
Phillips arrives with an impressive background, having coached both junior and senior players on the global stage. His extensive career includes international coaching roles and serving as Lead Coach for prominent players like Daniel Gimeno Traver, who reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 48, and Evgeny Donskoy, who climbed to world No. 65. Phillips has also worked with British tennis stars such as James Ward, Heather Watson, and Lloyd Glasspool. Currently, he is the Lead Development Coach for promising talents Anton Matusevich, Jack Pinnington Jones, and Felix Gill.
Sharing his excitement about joining Loughborough, Phillips remarked, “Each player’s journey is unique, but I firmly believe that with teamwork and dedication, we can establish clear pathways for players and guide them step by step. British tennis has always been a passion of mine, and I am eager to contribute to making a significant impact on the sport. Together with the wider team, we have ambitious goals to increase the number of high-quality junior players while preparing them for professional tennis. It’s an exciting time to be involved in tennis at Loughborough, and I am eager to help our players advance to the next level.”
As LUNTA continues its growth, the academy is also on the lookout for candidates to fill its latest Academy Coach position, presenting an exciting opportunity for those dedicated to tennis development.
