These wearables, approved by the ATP and developed by STATSports and Catapult, will capture vital metrics such as heart rate and high-intensity load data. The information gathered will be centralized within ATP Tennis IQ – Wearables, a new dashboard that allows players and coaches to analyze match and training data with ease. This platform is an extension of ATP Tennis IQ, which debuted in 2023 to provide accessible match insights and support player preparation and recovery.
“The introduction of wearables on Tour is a big step forward in our push to optimize player performance and prevent injury,” remarked Ross Hutchins, ATP Chief Sporting Officer. “We’re delighted to make cutting-edge data insights more accessible than ever and look forward to continuing our innovation in this space.”
Ensuring privacy, the ATP has committed to keeping all player data confidential, accessible only to the players and their support teams. Phase Two of the initiative, scheduled for later this year, will further develop these insights, integrating player feedback to refine and expand the platform.
With this innovation, the ATP aligns with broader trends in sports tech, paving the way for a more data-informed approach to performance and athlete health on the court.
