The approved devices—STATSports and Catapult—will collect detailed physical metrics such as heart rate and high-intensity workload, giving players a comprehensive view of their exertion levels and recovery needs. All data will be streamlined into ATP Tennis IQ – Wearables, a dedicated dashboard within the ATP’s existing analytics platform. Launched in 2023, ATP Tennis IQ aims to democratize access to match data and performance insights, allowing players and their teams to refine strategies and improve recovery practices based on real-world metrics.
“The introduction of wearables on Tour is a big step forward in our push to optimize player performance and prevent injury,” said Ross Hutchins, ATP Chief Sporting Officer. “Our goal is to empower players to maximize their careers by making advanced data insights accessible and actionable.”
The ATP emphasized that all wearable data will be handled with strict confidentiality, protecting players’ privacy while still allowing them to benefit from advanced analytics. Later this year, Phase Two of the initiative will roll out, incorporating player feedback and new data insights to further personalize and refine performance analytics.
